Blinx 2 Masters of Time & Space

11 October 2006 02:13

I was starting to believe that the world of goofy games was over, but here comes Artoon with Blinx 2 Masters of Time & Space, with the Time Factory Team and the Tom Tom Gang to the rescue! Where else could you get seriously cool cats and clumsy pigs to get you pumped for a non-stop action type game that keeps you on your feet!

The brains at Artoon spoiled us with this graphical marvel and game play nirvana. Who would have thought that cats and pigs could make a great duo! This game has it all, from blowing characters up to sneaking around corners, creating warp tunnels to get around.

Start with throwing in a big nice Power Crystal, then watch it blow up into pieces, and watch them run to find the pieces to put it together. This sums up the game. Now who is running around to get the pieces? Well, enter the Time Factory team who are cool cats with crazy guitar-style vacuums and then you have the bad cork noses to go with the Tom Tom Gang. I have to admit that the storyline isn't the best I've heard, but the game keeps a fun and just plain silly side to it until the very end.

The great part about this game are the graphics and the little humour that makes Blinx 2 a hit. You go through the game jumping from good to bad to good again. That I must say is great, seeing as you get to see the minds behind both good and evil. Also, the music of this game is directly from Japan, you have the fast paced techno beats that keep you going as if you where in a workout.

Move out of the way Neo, there's a cooler bullet time on the market. hese cats can stop, fast forward, and rewind time with a click of a button. Not only can you create your own team, you can decide the style, the colors even the size of their ears. This broadens the design of game play to mix and match your style!

The bad pigs are in town, and they won't stop at anything to get the crystal. The new age of stealth is here with these witty pigs! Use the black holes and void traps to control space, and get past the guards! These pigs, like most, are chasing fame and bling bling. And they will play dirty to get it.

You can choose between one to four players. In a single or two-player Co-op mode, you will go through the game helping each other get through the not so hard levels. I must say the level span is a bit disappointing. Nowadays, games have very large maps that bring about broader game play. As well, go crazy in the two to four player battle mode where you face off against your buddies and let the fur fly! The only drawback to the battle mode is that it's not on Xbox Live, a must these days.

The Good: Graphically very strong, fast loading, smooth, great music and sound effects, cool story line and game play.

The Bad: Levels are too easy and not relatively big, some camera angles need tweaking, no Xbox Live.

Game Play:    7.0
Graphics:       8.0
Sound:          7.0
Longevity:     6.0
