FIC P4-865PE MAX Dynasty Pentium 4
  Motherboard
Our last look at an FIC
Pentium 4 board goes back to the VC19 powered by the Intel 845 chipset running
on DDR; this product had definitely left some positive thoughts in our offices
cause of its several features such as onboard raid, good 5.1 sound and descent
    performance numbers under benchmarks.

  Earlier this week we received
their latest P4 solution powered by the 865 Intel chipset, while not under
the VC rating name anymore their new board is called the VL13 / P4-865PE
MAX and spots features such as USB2.0,
5.1 channel audio and AGP8X, in other words, a board taking advantage of all
features on the 865PE chip. Let’s find out what the 865 Dynasty has to offer.
  Intel 865PE chipset
  The FIC P4
865PE MAX (845 Dynasty) board features the 865PE chipset from Intel supporting
the Pentium 4 processor of up to 3.06GHz and higher upon availability in addition
of offering a dual channel DDR400 main memory bus along with a 800MHz system
    bus.

Other features of the 865PE includes an AGP8X graphics interface, Intel communication
streaming architecture featuring a dedicated network bus (DNB) interface for
wire speed gigabit Ethernet. Eight USB 2.0 ports offering up to 40x greater bandwidth
over USB 1.1.  Thanks to the use of the ICH5 Southbridge (R version)
dual serial ATA ports with SATA RAID 0
support is onboard, and an AC97 sound controller supporting
    Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound;
