I had hoped for a head
to head 1.2 GHz showdown with the FIC AD11 but as I've explained that plan
fell through. No biggie though since we can compare our results with the Tyan
KTa to the AOpen AK73.
Both boards couldn't get the 1.2 GHz Athlon to its rated speed due to different
problems. Obviously the Trinity KT-A can do it as long as the on-board thermal
protection isn't tripped. Note to self: must find a better HSF unit that can
fit in the normal confines of a board like the Trinity KT-A. The AK73 just
doesn't support the 266 FSB Athlons, although it is conceivable that AOpen
could release a newer BIOS to enable this CPU support.
