Wow, what an improvement!
Just remember, these are only benchmarks, and they are only an indicator of
your real world performance. When I installed the new hard drive, I definitely
noticed a marked improvement in loading applications, and the OS itself during
boot. However, I would guess that real world performance increase was around
50%, not 100% as shown here.
In comparison to other
drives in the Fireball's league, performance is average. However, there is
nothing average about the performance gain you will have from the Fireball
over your old hard drive.
Conclusion
To
sum things up, this drive is a good performing, quality hard drive that has
a lot of room to grow. With online prices in the US $187.00 range (at buy.com),
this is a good investment. Quantum's ERP of $399 is laughable.
This product deserves
my Editor's Choice because of its good performance and the manufacturer's
good reputation.
