The Duron 800 used in
testing this board was provided by the great guys at AMD. While I was in the
middle of benchmarking this card Matrox released a new set of drivers on their
website. Originally I had planned to use a few more benchmarks to show this
card's excellent 2D business performance. I came to the conclusion that most
of these benchmarks aren't in wide use anymore and that the information that
they provided wouldn't be all that helpful. So rather than throw numbers at
you that wouldn't say a whole lot I tested this card in the same manner we've
tested other cards that have come through the TargetPC labs and I'll leave
it to the conclusions page to discuss the 2D performance. Do try to keep in
mind that this card is designed to satisfy the average business user or graphics
user. It wasn't built to give the highest Quake III scores around. Why test
with Quake III or 3DMark? I wanted to show its performance so those of you
who are interested in all the features of the G450 can compare it to some
of our other reviews and compare performance for yourselves.
