Summation
The P4ISR has practically all the features an advanced user would
like in his motherboard; clean layout, stability and good overclocking
features. While I was very happy with this product, we must point out
that SDRAM memory is simply not enough to take full advantage of the
Pentium 4. Our benchmarks demonstrated how the 845 chipset coupled with
SDRAM performs versus RDRAM and DDR memory; the results we’re quite
disappointing. The memory bandwidth results we’re almost 50% inferior
to the 845 DDR. If you want the best performance out of an Intel chipset
your best bet would be to go with the 845 DDR which will end up being
slightly more expensive. In the other hand if you are planning to go
845 SDRAM, the P4ISR would be your best bet to get the most from the
least.
We
should be looking at Soyo’s 845 DDR solution very soon, stay tuned.
