Sometimes we get to do an in depth review of a product that requires tons of explanation. Other times we find that the product is so simple yet does exactly what it claims to do. Today I present the Swiss Pick. Not named for a country of birth but more for its resemblance to something that tastes good on a sandwich. My buddies at Squeetones hooked me up with this fantastic little product a while back.
Okay, why a pick?
One common problem for musicians is that our hands not only sweat but produce oils. This means as we play aggressively the pick in our hand literally will move around and often shoot out. They make great souvenirs from a concert but that's not the only reason your favorite guitarist has them stuck to his mic stand, guitar, and hidden all over his gear. The Swiss Pick features raised areas as well as holes cut into it to increase the grip of the pick. Other manufacturers offer picks with grooves scratched into them or made out of rough material but short of glue backed sand paper I haven't found those to work for me - BTW I don't have a patent on the sandpaper idea but I've been doing that for years.
If your shop doesn't carry them yet ask for them or order some online.
